Description
Snow along the coasts of central Tuscany is infrequent.
And the mountains are also far away. However, it snows once or twice a year in the nearby area of the Metalliferous Hills (Colline Metallifere), an area of high hills between 500 and 1000 meters above sea level.
In February 2023, more than 20 cm of snow unexpectedly fell, a very abundant snowfall, as happened many years ago, before climate change.
Not far from Castelnuovo Val di Cecina, I found these 13 trees in a row. Their different heights form a harmonious wavy curve as if it were some histogram of trees.
It was snowing so copiously and with a headwind that I couldn't take the picture because the snowflakes were continually depositing themselves above the lens.
In the end, after many tests and with the help of an umbrella I had left in the car, I brought home some exciting shots.

In addition to the banner, I am adding this more permanent recognition of its FEATURE on the homepage of A TREE OR TREES IN BLACK AND WHITE. I try mightily to feature only images that would be at home in a juried competition. No doubt that this image fits that bill. CONGRATULATIONS! And consider adding your image to DISCUSSIONS "Please post your featured photograph here" for greater, long-lasting visibility.
