Artist's Description

I took this picture of the Itsukushima red torii during my trip to Japan in 2010. It rained all day heavily on Miyajima island near Hiroshima city. I had difficulty visiting the shrine. Still, from a photographic point of view, I was lucky because I could capture an excellent mood in black and white. This photograph is a 3-minute long exposure taken under the storm. This photo is part of the "Ukiyo, the Floating World" project.

About Stefano Orazzini

Stefano Orazzini

I am an award-winning photographer based in Italy, featured on all major media channels such as National Geographic, The Times, Huffington Post, The Telegraph, Lonely Planet, and more. I still believe that the ultimate goal of photography is to be PRINTED. This is why I chose Fine Art photography. Because it gives substance to what I do. When a photograph is printed as artwork to hang on a wall, it becomes a memory you can touch, providing a more profound emotion.
